WHITE BROWNIES

6 squares (1 ounce each) white baking chocolate
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, cut into cubes
3 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
6 eggs
3 cups sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 (10 to 12 ounces) pkg vanilla or white chips
1 cup pecans

In a double boiler or microwave, melt the chocolate and butter. Cool for 20 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 15x10 inch baking pan.

Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until thick and lemon-colored, about 4 minutes. Gradually beat in the melted chocolate and vanilla. Gradually add the flour mixture to the chocolate mixture.

Stir in the chips and pecans. Pour into prepared baking pan.

Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.

Makes about 4 dozen
